“MANGO AND SHADOW” (5 X 11 in.)

What I enjoyed about this subject was the mixture of colors on the skin of the fruit. It would be a perfect opportunity to use the properties of watercolor to achieve this effect. There was so much color in the fruit itself that the shadow would be a supportive part of the painting but not distract from the mango. I was also pleased with how the texture of the skin came out. The diagonal horizon also adds some dynamic tension to the composition.
