“A PEAR STILL LIFE” (18 x 24 in.)

This painting is actually a detail of a larger illustration. What attracted me to this image were the shapes and colors. The lines of the pears were never straight but full of sensual curves. The strong light illuminates the fruit and brings out a variety of colors. These colors were exaggerated in the painting but the palette still holds together. The close up perspective almost abstracts the image. With parts of the pears missing, the viewer must complete the picture for themselves. But in doing so perhaps notices parts that are normally over looked.
