“Chico’s Bar/Restaurant- Montezuma, Costa Rica” (5×11)
This small painting was created one afternoon while sitting is a small restaurant across the street from Chico’s. It a quiet time at the bar…most people were still at the beach. In the evening Chico’s would transform into the local hot spot (“fiesta central”) with music, dancing and a general party atmosphere continuing until the early morning.
What caught my interest in Chico’s from an artists perspective are its design, the colors, the quality of light and the lack of people. To capture a moment in time with emotional content (even if it is a lazy tropical afternoon) is always the goal of an artist.
